Woolwich Youth Soccer Club

Our Mission

Building community through a high quality soccer program that pursues passion and development while creating lifelong relationships and memories.

History

In 1976, the Township of Woolwich organized a 4-team soccer program, leading to the eventual formation of the Woolwich Youth Soccer Club in 1978.

A small group of volunteers oversaw growth in a coed house league program. In 1981, two tournament select teams participated in 2 tournaments — the first time playing outside the Township of Woolwich.

The interest in a rep program led to 3 teams playing in the league two years later. The program continued to grow, resulting in separate girls’ and boys’ teams and finally a merger with North Dumfries, which allowed local players the ability to play in WOYSL and OYSL — the highest level of competition in Ontario — as well as the Ontario Cup.

The club continues to run both a successful house league and rep program with over 1100 participants.

Club highlights include Ontario Cup Championships and European team tours to England and Germany.

We are proud that many of our former players have returned in a coaching capacity to help the further development of our youth and the sport.
